Wellness
Wellness care is important for all stages of your pet’s life. We’re here to make sure that they’re on track with preventive care through all stages of their life. Some of our wellness care includes, but is not limited to, vaccinations, yearly preventives and bloodwork, behavioral and nutritional counseling, and more!
Drop-off Appointments
Have a crazy schedule, but your pet is sick or due for its vaccines? No problem! We offer drop off appointments, so you can keep your pet healthy no matter your schedule!
Laser Surgery

Glades Pike Veterinary Hospital is pleased to offer our patients the latest in surgical technology with the CO2 laser. The benefits of laser surgery are numerous:

  • Less pain and swelling
  • Shorter recovery time
  • Minimal bleeding
  • Sanitizing effect reduces the risk of infection
  • Less trauma for pets
  • Reduced surgery time, meaning a shorter time spent under anesthesia

The laser has the unique ability to vaporize tissue and is commonly used to make incisions and erase unhealthy tissue. It is so precise that we are able to selectively remove only a few cells at a time. The laser kills bacteria in its path and seals nerve endings, leaving patients more comfortable after surgery by causing less trauma to tissue, resulting in a faster recovery time.

Cancer Treatment
Did you get news that your beloved animal has cancer? Is it hard to travel for their treatment? We can work with you to provide affordable options for treating your pet. Many of the common cancer treatments can be done in our office.
Endoscopy
Endoscopy involves the use of either a rigid or flexible fiberoptic instrument to allow visual examination of the internal organs without invasive exploratory surgery. A small camera at the end of the endoscope provides images of the internal structures of the body, allowing the Internist to view disease processes and take biopsies for further diagnostics. It can often be used for foreign body removal as well. This procedure allows for a non-surgical alternative in some cases for pets that minimizes anesthesia time and allows for a shorter recovery and hospital stay.
Pharmacy
Need a prescription refilled? Need another bag of food for your pet? You’re able to get the medication you need in our hospital or from our online store. We have options to make your life easier!
Orthopedics
We offer surgical repair of many standard orthopedic procedures. Dr. Hunter is able to complete procedures to repair torn ACL ligaments, hip problems, and other joint issues. A post-op rehabilitation plan is, also, provided!
Puppy and Kitten Care
Having a puppy and kitten is a very exciting time! We are here to guide you through their early stages to ensure they are set on a path for a healthy life. A vaccination and deworming schedule are the foundation of our puppy and kitten programs.
Surgery
We have a spacious dedicated surgery suite and the advanced equipment needed to perform most surgical procedures. Our doctors are proficient in many soft tissue surgeries, including spays and neuters, enterotomies and gastrostomies, cystotomies, splenectomies, gastropexies, tumor removals, and many more.
Laser Therapy
Laser Therapy reduces pain and inflammation and increases blood supply to speed healing with no known side effects. It is used to treat a variety of injuries, wounds, fractures, neurologic conditions, dermatological problems, and pain. Whether your pet is recovering from trauma or injury, healing from wounds, or simply aging, the laser can provide relief and speed healing!
Dentistry
Maintaining strong dental health and a regular cleaning program assures that your pet’s mouth and teeth will remain in excellent condition. Dental disease is a constant source of infection for the heart, kidneys, and other organs. Additionally, it can cause discomfort and pain that may decrease your pet’s desire to eat solid foods or play with toys. We are proud that we have the most up to date equipment to treat dental disease.
Diagnostics
Because your pet deserves the best, we use only the latest veterinary diagnostic technology in our digital radiography, ultrasound, and in- house lab.
Emergency

Emergencies can happen to our pets day or night. We have a veterinarian on-call after-hours to provide care in an emergency with your pet.

Proudly caring for the pets of the Laurel Highlands and beyond.

It is our mission to partner with our clients to nurture and preserve the human-animal bond by providing compassionate, expert, and affordable veterinary care from your pet's first adventure throughout a long and healthy life.
